The Amplifiers are Bloomington-Normal’s premiere backing band, supporting several of the standout musicians of the local scene. The wild shirtless guitar-playing of Justin Tirone, the bong-rattling bass of Brian Rejack, and the competent drum-work of Ben Wyman combine to form one of central Illinois’s tightest three-pieces. They have played around town and across the Midwest with solo acts including Bruce Moon, Mattie Mae, Brian Beam, Steve Monk, John McHale, and Blono-legend Gregg Brown.
